"A special cottage with lots of character, and a very warm welcome from the family. We wanted for nothing. We visited the Yorkshire Dales - it's a wonderful drive through Pateley Bridge to Hawes via Hubberholme. Brimham Rocks are well worth a visit. The highlight of our holiday was Fountains Abbey at night, floodlit with choral singing – very atmospheric."
Barbara and Paul, Stourbridge

"Thank you so much for a wonderful break – we really needed it. Your cottage and farm are beautiful - we couldn't have asked for anything more. We'll definitely be returning to Yorkshire in the future. It's a shame we couldn't stay longer."
Steph & Adam with Fizzy & Meg (dogs)

"We have had the most fantastic few days. A warm welcome to a fabulous cottage. Day two we spent at Brimham Rocks which was loads of fun and exhausting at the same time. We spent a relaxing evening with DVD's snacks and no phone calls or knocks at the door (it's great to be away!) Saturday was again full of fun. Forbidden Corner was fab- lost the teenager! And found him 2 hours later. Next stop was Brymor Ice Cream Parlour - indulgence is bliss! Finished our day with Fish and Chips served with a smile at the Jolly Fryer in Ripon. Thank you for a fantastic short break away from the busy lives we lead in the big city. Hope you don't mind but we will want to stay again! Love Andrea, Thomas, Stuart, and Richard.

Enjoyed our break in the Yorkshire Dales. very lucky with the weather. accommodation very nice, countryside beautiful and very quiet surroundings. Enjoyed a trip to the Black Sheep Brewery at Masham. Highly recommended break

Very enjoyable weekend. Cottage excellent- very comfortable, great shower and kitchen. Fountains Abbey is well worth a visit.  Kings Head in Masham Market Square serves excellent food and excellent beer - Theakston's Old Peculiar in particular.

"Thank you for a lovely week - the cottage is fantastic and the surrounding area superb."

"I can only echo the sentiments of your previous visitors. We have had the BEST few days here- all of us wish that it could have been much longer- maybe a year or two! The cottage (Byre) has been comfortable, very warm and cosy and nice to come back to from foray outside, the weather wasn't that bad though for November! Kirkby Malzeard butcher also provided lovely meat. The places we visited- the 2 local villages- both beautiful. Forbidden Corner, Middleham, Fountains Abbey, Skipton castle and Betty's Tea Rooms in Harrogate- were all interesting or lovely or welcoming or all three! But the best thing about this place is THIS PLACE - the Yorkshire Dales are just wonderful; beautiful scenery, alternating between wild moors and picture-postcard pretty villages, and friendly hospitable people - just brilliant. We live so far away its hard to say if or when we'll be back, but if we can, we will return one day. Even the teenage son liked it!  Best wishes and many thanks.

"Thanks for a wonderful weekend (the weather was brilliant). It's a super cottage - very relaxing. The added extras, watching the sheep shearing and seeing the puppies, all made it so special."

"Everything we hoped for in a country cottage- plus that little extra! Comfortable quiet and fuss-free. Thank you."
Joan Marne and Terry Hales.

"Cottage gave us all we expected and more! Bright and airy, well equipped, great views and good location. The lambs and weather were bonuses!  Visits to Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey would be recommendations. And walking in the Dales. Every town, village, settlement has something interesting, but walking between them is the best bit- along with drinking the Black Sheep and Theakstons Beer."
Tim Diane Stephanie and Caroline  - Nottingham

"The cottage is great and the beds soooooo comfy!  The wee lambs so cute. I enjoyed seeing Ripon again after living there, and visiting York and Harrogate. Hope to come back someday. "

"Thank you for a lovely weeks holiday. the cottage is perfect and the scenery couldn't be any better. We could watch the lambs all day. Have run out of time to visit all the places we wanted, so hope to be able to come back soon. Thanks again."

"Thanks for a fantastic 10 days of rest and relaxation at Granary Cottage. We couldn't ask for any more creature comforts- it felt just like home. We really enjoyed roaming around the Dales and all the lovely towns in the area as well. Rest assured we will sing your praises far and wide. We hope to come back one day."

"This was our first holiday in Yorkshire and it has been a great experience. The barn conversion is fantastic and has been a great base for our family adventures. The weather was fantastic with only one day of rain. so we made the most of it and visited lots of places. some of the highlights were Newby Hall - (fantastic for young children). Brimham Rocks and Malham Cove and Goredale Scar. We will be coming back in the near future as there is still loads we want to see. thank you for your welcome and best wishes for the future."
Sarah Ben Cameron and Kirsty.

"Very lovely location and cottage with super views. It's the ideal chill out location, lots to do if you so wish or you just sit back and let life pass you by.  Will be back sometime in the near future, thank you for being so welcoming."

"We have had a lovely few days, the weather was good. Made friends with Ginger the cat and had too much breakfast on the Sunday morning. Many thanks Catherine for a comfortable stay and Adrian for breakfast delights! (We've eaten off the sausages all week) Best wishes "  Caroline and Trevor Vincent

"Comfortable well equipped cottage in beautiful location. Dog haven, great walks. A most relaxing holiday. Galphay Inn well worth a visit, food superb. Look foreword to a return visit to West Leas Farm."
Susan Jeffrey Doug Ann and the dogs.

We have enjoyed staying at the cottages. the weather could have been better but we made the most of it- after all it is December! We would certainly consider coming again in the summer. We recommend the Galphay Inn, they made us very welcome and the food and service was first class. Whitby was very busy and make sure you travel via the moors seeing "Aidensfield"  i.e.  Goathland.

"Loved the place and didn't want to go home. A quiet haven - you drive in the farm gate and think "wowee" we're back it's so lovley here- our worries slip away. Yet we kept in touch with the outside world and work in the brilliant internet shed! Becky and Steve   London
